Bernardo’s Achievements
Aeronautical
Homologated key project regarding a major modification of a CESSNA 208 & 208B aircraft. The project was homologated at the Civil Aviation Authority of Brazil (ANAC) and later became a patent sold for AUD$ 15M.
This was a success because it took minimal changes with the modular design completely bolted, following a lean design manufacturing philosophy and ease of installation and removal.
Innovative engineering principles were used to double the capacity of occupants in the aircraft, while modified to operate for parachute launching purposes, all within a lean budget. This increased the revenue of primary parachute clubs, with small seed capital investment and quicker ROI.
Formula Car Racing
Winner of two national awards - 1st place between 64 teams in the Formula 3 SAE category:
Award One:
Best design of a power drive system.
23% reduction of weight, leading to the 1st place in acceleration test (4.127s).
Reduction of assembly time from 106 to 18 minutes, by applying lean manufacturing philosophy.
During the design of mechanisms, reducing the bolting connection from 49 to 17un.
Award Two:
Best impact attenuator design (IAD) - Championship sponsored by ALTAIR Brasil.
Additional award for innovative design was received, for reducing the weight of the component from 2.9kg to 0.740g.
These results were achieved by using state-of-the-art engineering composite materials (aramid fiber - Kevlar®), which led to a partnership with a professional Stock Car racing team.
23% weight reduction, for 1st place in acceleration test (4.127s).
Efficiency improvements resulting in reduced man power and minutes per tank.
Private Consultant
Increase of 30% in performance and profit.
Family Business:
Developed critical procedures and processes for the business, during expansion and growth periods. This included the automation of a financial system and project traceability, leading to an increase of 30% in performance and profit in the first year.
Strategic investments in software development, marketing campaigns, and customer journey, tripling the previous operation and revenue while growing the team from 70 to 120 employees in three years.
Third-Party Company:
Designed, developed, and prototyped an automatic fish feeder machine, to improve the production of a fish control system. This was engineered and designed by CADOMA tracking the environmental conditions in the water.
In addition, a table of fish separation per size with an integrated counting cloud system was developed through the sensitivity of an electric pulse. This project went on to win the National Award of Innovation from the Fishing Minister of Brazil and allowed large-scale production lakes (over 100 tanks) to have a live overview of their production by separating fish by size.
This work was performed manually by 5-10 employees, in about 10-30 minutes per tank, which was changed to a solo operator and reduced time to 5 minutes per tank.
